cometcrystal:

alright, so it bugged me for a long time that ramses was the only de nile to wear full body and face bandages all the time. so i came up with an explanation

i should mention this headcanon goes off of what cleo said in her bloom and gloom diary, that the wraps are what’s keeping the mummies alive. a small headcanon i have is if they’re not visible on their outfit, they’ve got them under their clothes simply cause they didn’t go with their outfit that day or something

anyway, when ramses and his daughters woke up from their long, long entombment, he looked like a middle aged man, probably handsome since the de niles are gorgeous people. and he likely had the same amount of wraps as cleo or nefera

when they got out of the tomb, he wanted to see if it was safe to take the wraps off now that they were awake. he did so, and he began rapidly aging as soon as he took them off, and it stopped once the wraps were touching his skin again. if he left them off for a couple more seconds he would have crumbled to dust

so now he’s an old man, and he’s extremely vain, so he’s ashamed of his new appearance. he covers himself up with wraps and he’s a mummy so nobody really questions it. that’s why he is the only mummy we’ve seen so far that uses full body bandages (and also why he has gross teeth in boo york, lol)
